Oklahoma Sooners Softball Takes Home National Championship
Victory Press Conference Held by Coach and Players

Following their thrilling 3-1 victory over Florida State in the National Championship game on Thursday, Oklahoma Sooners Softball Coach Patty Gasso and her players met with the press to share their thoughts on the team's remarkable achievement.
Gasso, who has led the Sooners to five national championships, praised her team's resilience and determination throughout the season. "This team has shown incredible heart and character all year long," she said. "They never gave up, even when faced with adversity. I'm so proud of everything they've accomplished."
Pitcher Nicole May, who earned the win in the championship game, echoed her coach's sentiments. "It's an incredible feeling to be part of this team," she said. "We've worked so hard all season, and it's finally paid off. I'm so grateful to be a part of this special group."
Outfielder Jayda Coleman, who hit a home run in the championship game, talked about the team's chemistry and camaraderie. "We're like a family," she said. "We've spent so much time together, and we've grown so close. I think that's what makes us so successful on the field."
The Sooners will now enjoy a short break before beginning preparations for next season. They will open their 2025 campaign on February 11th with a home game against the Texas Longhorns.
