German Moves Past Nicolas Jarry in Straight Sets

Zverev, born 20 April 1997, is a German professional tennis player who has been ranked by the ATP as world No. 3 in singles.

He is the second German, after Boris Becker, to hold the World No. 3 rank. Zverev is an Olympic gold medalist, having won the singles title at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, and an ATP Masters 1000 champion, with six titles to his name.

On Sunday, Zverev won his sixth ATP Masters 1000 title by defeating Nicolas Jarry in straight sets in the final of the Madrid Open. Zverev won the match 6-4, 7-5 to claim his first title of the season.

The win will see Zverev move up to No. 3 in the ATP rankings, his highest ranking since November 2018. He is now just 100 points behind world No. 2 Daniil Medvedev.
