Atsushi Ōkubo is a prominent Japanese manga artist who has gained recognition for his exceptional works, including "Soul Eater" and "Fire Force." Born in 1979, Ōkubo began his illustrious career as an assistant to renowned manga artist Akimine Kamijyo.

Soul Eater and Fire Force

Ōkubo's breakthrough came with the creation of the popular manga series "Soul Eater," which ran from 2004 to 2013. The series follows the adventures of students at the Death Weapon Meister Academy who must collect 99 evil souls and one witch's soul to create a "Death Scythe" for their Death God. In 2015, Ōkubo launched "Fire Force," a captivating manga that explores a world where people spontaneously combust into fire-wielding creatures known as Infernals. The series has been adapted into an acclaimed anime series.
