A Life of Service
Anthony was born in Lisbon, Portugal, in 1195. He joined the Augustinian Order at the age of 15, but later transferred to the Franciscan Order. He spent his life traveling and preaching, founding many Franciscan monasteries and convents. He was also known for his work with the poor and the sick, and for his ability to perform miracles.
